FMCSA says 12 revoked ELDs are now OOS

As of July 20, 2026, drivers using 12 revoked ELDs, or paper logs used improperly, can be cited and placed out of service.

FMCSA said 12 electronic logging devices were removed from the registered ELD list on May 20, 2026, after the companies failed to meet the minimum requirements in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.

The agency said the period for motor carriers to use paper logs while updating to a new ELD has ended. As of July 20, 2026, safety officials who find a driver using one of the revoked ELDs, or improperly using paper logs, should cite 395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out of service under the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Out-of-Service Criteria.

The revoked devices listed by FMCSA are:
